Thread: Oil changes-2smokers?

    unless your oilis real bad not many workshop will make comment about it just remember anything thats in theoil from clutch wear etc etc is also going through all your bearings just check your filter next time you change it your likely to see fine metal partical etc etc it all causes wear. So my way of thinking is the less time it spends in there the better. Yamaha have washable oil filter which i use 2-3 time then trow so i do oi and filter every time i change it.

    On my Rmz i change filter and oil every 2nd ride and clean out the oil strainer, don't see the point of running a dirty filter with clean oil, (unless like barty you have washable).

    And on my Cr125 i would change gear box oil every 3-4 rides like most other people on here.

    Washable filter aye. Is it genuine standard filter or do ya buy an aftermarket special? it's not the one that comes in the black and green box is it (i forget the brand name)

    my first 08 came with a washable fited this one didnt but dont remember the name of these versha i think

    I think mine doesnt even have an oil filter
    theres nothing in the manual about oil filters, only air
    Is this strange for a 125?
    we may just go where no ones been

    nah me and barty strayed off and started talking 4T talk. Far too technical for you ring ting boys. lol. No your gearbox wouldn't have a filter

    it wont most 2s dont will have magnetic drain plug though clean this when you change oil.

    i change my oil filter every 10-15 hrs,and oils every 2-5 hrs,in saying that though it all depends on where and how your riding it, i check mine before changing it and if its still pretty clean i;ll stick with it for another hour or two.

    You be quiet, just because we spend less time in the garage working on our bikes and more time out riding them its no need to snipe

    depends on what sort of riding, like it i went on a slushly ride wher the bike is working hard id do it after that or else 4 normal rides,

    oils cheap bearings and pistons arent!
