The sparkplug fires a few degrees before TDC so the flame front has travelled through the entire air/fuel mixture by the time the piston begins it's power stroke.

And here's me thinking it was the firing order of the plugs but it's the same difference.

But how does a discussion on wsbk's go from riders and machines to whether there is ignition before or after top dead centre. And yes it's before because of the "flame travel". And probably other reasons as well.

    But back on topic.

One thing is for sure, wsbk is going to be interesting to watch and it's going to be @#$%^ hard to pick the winner each race.

Ah KB! Where everyone wuvs each uvver, where tolerance and understanding reign and everyone believes the best of the other... Where we're all experts in our fields and knowledge reigns supreme...

Nah, where's the fun in that...?

Actually, notice that no matter what "developments" the manufacturers come up with these days, the internal combustion engine is very well understood and gains are marginal to the point that it is really down to rider ability and tuning the bike to the tyres.

The real MotoGP riders are so good that the average Jo, ie: you and me and even in my opinion, (), racer's of the calibre of most of NZ's talent wouldn't be able to make the most of any of the MotoGP bikes.

It is down to eensy tiny percentages and luck plays as big a role as talent in MotoGP and in such as Formula 1 these days.

But very entertaining to watch and to see the acts of pure talent by someone riding the blue-blazes out of a 240hp bike, is amazing!

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

wasted spark system, will only ignite in one cyl which obviously is the one nearing the end of its compression stroke. although an engine under load and/or at high reves will be igniting the air fuel mixture more than 40* btdc....
    basic stuff.

Is this on SKY or something?

Was really keen on seeing what the new bikes (BMW/YAMAHA/RSV4) could do.

Hmmm. Maybe it will be on at drivers.
