We've been thinking about this weighty subject as a club and have decided to take some steps to address the matter. Due to the many vagaries involved in waving, especially as to format, timing and level of enthusiasm, we have decided to have a designated 'waver" for each run.
This person will take on all of the waving duties and will be held responsible for portraying the ethos of the club by diligently waving in the appropriate manner (dependant, of course, on the wavee). At end end of each run the waver will give a full report of all waves initiated and/or responded to. This data will be collected into the club archives and one on every full moon we will collate waves for and against and decide on approprate next steps. In the event of a waving deficit with an identified individual, group or stereotype we will institute a retributive wave (to be decided) or in the unlikely event of a waving surplus with an identified individual, group or stereotype we will seek said individual, group or stereotype out and descend upon them en masse in a recognised "Club Wave Run".
Thus our waving obligations should be discharged fairly to all
Neca eos omnes. Deus suos agnoscet
thanks for the incentive, look forward to reading your collated information![]()

For myself, I acknowledge everyone (almost waved at a caravan the other day /fail) but mostly the cruiser riders just ignore me. After a while I gave up waving at the cruiser riders - I felt a bit disheartened by it actually. Occasionally I'll give it another shot depending on how I am feeling, and quite often I get a (surprised?) wave back from them! So stuffed if I know - I just go ride and be myself, just like they are.

"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
WTB: Hyosung bikes or going or not.
I ride a Harley around Ch Ch and seldom does 'anyone' wave. Another Harley rider stopped on the other side of the lights did wave the other day and I was shocked! To be fair I sometimes nod ,,,easier than waving.. Doesnt bother me...I'm to busy enjoying my ride.

Some balls are held for charity
And some for fancy dress
But when they're held for pleasure
They're the balls that I like best
Now that must be a let down, isn't tthe south Island supposed to be the friendlier Island?
Myths and truths are fine, but we probably need some facts.
LOL so the moral of this story? don't miss the Fact and you'll arrive in the right place! Wave on the way and it could turn to shiet! This has beena fun 10 minutes or so reading through, cheers guys.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
I recon that most people do wave, some don't or wont, but student scooter riders even though they are on two wheels dont care bout no one
