Im keen. did it in 07 on my daughters DRZ125, it was fun, it rained a bit, just enough to make it real slippery was hard work for the little bike with my fat ass
on it, in the sand dunes, the bike was struggling couldn't get any speed up.

Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Well it was either looking at the Photo's of last years event or the beers Ive just had but somehow I've talked the cheese'n"kisses into the green light for going on this ride on sunday. Will be flying solo so keen to meet up with any KB'ers out there, Will be in Black Hilux with a green beer botttle on the side before the ride. or On the ktm on its side out on the track!! Cya there

we'll be there Barty 4 of us Me an my son and my mate that we rode the Gncc with on the Husaberg 450 and another riding mate on a Wr450.
Be closer to 8:30 though cya in Tuakau. Ill txt you in the morning ok.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

still all go, will be a touch slippery in places, we are taking out one section that is very wet, see you all tomorrow,
you said that if your not out the gate by 10:30 then you cant ride, what time do you start letting people ride??
we may just go where no ones been

after breifing which will be around 10am,
yea this one.
depends what way you want to go, says that its signposted from the mercer bridge but not tuakau, but if you go through tuakau you could just follow barty5s group
i think you just head for thundercross park, if youv been there, but instead of turning off by the cell phone tower go straight ahead on to waikaratu valley road, and there should be signs by then
we may just go where no ones been
yeah thats the one, will meet up there and follow the convoy..
Thanks
Darryl
well what can i say,
it is true that if you don't bring tools you will need them
bike fouled a plug from idle in the carpark and my mates bike wouldn't start and after many failed attempts to start including towing it, it kick started and spewed about a litre of oil out of the breather
so off the three of them went leaving me there to sort my own shit out, waited awhile finally sorted out the fukin plug, i cleaned it with help from a late arrival, thanks mate your a legend, then set off down the road to the lunch stop, this is 12:30 now, bike runs fine after that, no dramas with plugs
so lunch stop, see photos
second part of the loop, the beach part was really cool, stupid camera was having a tantrum and wouldn't start, missed all the photo ops on the coast, the actual beach riding was awesome, practice from woodhill payed off
then it was like a screaming run back home, mostly 4,5,6 gear stuff except one slightly wet hillclimb that everybody got jamed up forget back at 2:45
overall a highly enjoyable ride, although i only did half of it, my mates assure me that the first was equally as impressive, if at all slightly slippery
also found that half way round the second part i had a flat rear tyre![]()
there was a lot of carnage imo, one broken bike two serious crashes, one of them was a mate, hope hes ok and thats only what i know of, so probably more
but definately do it next year,to scott and mr cycles for the ride
