RSVR turned 45k

Well watched my RSVR turn over 45000k tonite while out for a short blast round my back roads & its been a bloody excellent time clocking them up at that . Have had the bike since 8000ks & it has only had one major fix which was the pressure plate in the clutch basket but even then I road it to Wellington from New Plymouth to get Bruce Telford to sort it out so has never let me down on a ride ever !! I have slid it down the road after hitting some diesel in the wet which saw a repair bill of $12k but as every bit was replaced with brand new the bike was back looking better than before . Apart from tyres & regular oil/filter changes plus tuning which I do all myself it has been one of my best rides yet & still is . Have spent maybe nearly 10k on improving the Ohlins /brakes & other stuff to suit my passion of getting the best out of things plus making it look like nothing else out there which I have done now , so can't really speak highly enough of this brand & hope the new RSV4 takes Aprilia onto the next level not only in SBK racing but on the road as their new Sports machine .

Phffft, I did 45000k's on mine with "no" issues what so ever & "I" put every single K on her. I do miss her sometimes though, she was purdy
Must be a European thing as the KTM had 50,000k's on the clock when I traded her for the 07 which is 200 odd shy of 14,000k's now (no wonder I'm always broke, that's alot of tyres & petrol) )

Hah! its only just run in! Mine is at 58000 and running like it should. Valve clearances checked at 45000 and still within factory tolerances and didn't need any adjustment what so ever.
Yes they have their Italian quirks but once they are ironed out they are sweet machines.

Like the time I was gassing up in Wanaka & got talking to this dude from Geraldine on a 97/98 model who'd had it from new & had only done can & airfilter & had clocked up 101,000k's with noo issues what so ever & that was over 2 yrs ago !!!

LOL. I'm part of the congregation too. Not riding as much as used to but am totalyy confident in my Ape's reliability. May future miles be as much fun Sensei.

I've had mine for a year now, done 26k (8k by me), not riding as much as used to but have faith in the beast and find just as reliable as any other make. Other than general maintenance havent had to do a thing, after all it is a fine example of precision machinary with attention to detail! Good to hear i should have at least 20k left in it, and good to hear you still enjoy the toy between your legs. Wtih a bit of luck my next beast will be a second hand RSV4 when i can afford one, love the black with gold frame RSV factory too though....

I've always found the opinions of geezers what road-ride Aprilias and race 400s to be well worth listening too.
