I thought that was standard with rotards - only way to lubricate the rotor tips'n'seals?

I believe it is, but they managed to reduce it with RX8's somehow, otherwise they would have failed emissions standards. Though that could have been done via a very restrictive exhaust filtering system (i'm just guessing here).
