red and white honda down on north western this morning

A young asian guy, ambulance staff appeared to be working on his leg and he looked okay. The good news is the bike didn't look too bad.

I rode past the scene, too. The CBR was up against the right-hand side of the motorway, rider was sitting on the left-hand shoulder talking to a bike cop.

I actually thought the bike looked a bit munted, frame and forks could have been bent.

Was it one of ours? Anyone?

My friend saw it happen and pulled ova. The car indicated and changed lanes at the same time, went right into him without looking. Apparently he tried to move over but didn't have enough time. Managed not to hit his head or the barrier, but only had jeans on and has a wicked chunk out of his leg. She said he did well to avoid being totalled. He tried to get up and walk around but a big bloke picked him up and made him lie down to get ova the shock.
Lady 'international' driver in cage was v. upset but said she didn't know you have to indicate for 3 seconds - duh.
Kinda shook up my friend a bit as she usually rides along there but was in a cage herself today.

lol... nothing like beating round the bush..

Does anyone have any clue if he was taken to central? My bro is back in ED again (he broke his leg, and the saga continues), so he might be able to find out how the guy is doing..
btw, out of all the problems and complications he's having with his leg, he's now in with an extreme allergic reaction to something! Poor kid.. Just thought it was funny, so I'd share his misfortune

    More info then;

my friend was driving a red car - not station wagon tho... so could be the 'nice-lookin gal' you saw. Rides a grey GSX250 when she's on 2 wheels.

bike had broken clutch, and cracked fairings but not too bad really
male asian rider was taken to Auckland in the ambulance as his leg was stuffed, so probable when to ED.

'international' always worked for me before, but the driver was probably yugoslav or something similar - absolutely freaked herself, was bawling her eyes out and very upset.

Ah, right. I only glanced at the car quickly, probably wasn't a station wagon, then.

It was definitely red, though. She was talking to the bike cop.

Presumably where she's from the coloured lights that adorn each corner of a vehicle are there for decoration and serve no real purpose except to play with while moving the steering wheel... "up click click... down click click"

    That must be it.

I think we're morally obliged to celebrate.
