Help! Violinist wanted!

Hi fellow KBers
I'm musical director for a show with Papakura Theatre Company being put on at the end of March. It's a great show called "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" - some good clips on YouTube of numbers from the show.
It is scored for piano (me), bass (my co-MD plays bass) and violin. We are having real problems finding a violinist so as a hopeful "casting of the net" I am hoping there might be a willing violinist here on KB.
The show runs from 20 - 28 March, with a couple of dress rehearsals in the week leading to opening night. (Yes, opening night is a Friday). The theatre company does pay a small amount per performance ($10) and there are 9 performances.
A classical violinist would be fine except there are a couple of numbers which a bit of blues/boogie woogie style is needed. It's all written so no need to improvise!

Have you checked the sub group "Musical People" yet? There were a couple of violinists in there I believe....of course you have to wade through the usual guitar and drum players to get to them o' course!

I've put up a new discussion for you...I once played 4 parts for a friend (who was a composer) using a variety of mutes and a multitracker. One of the parts I played was for a 'cello - have you thought about widening the possibilities from violin to violin/viola/clarinet/cornet/trumpet/oboe/flute/soprano sax?

It might sound strange at first but if you have a decent player available you'll be surprised how wel the ensemble can work so long as the players listen to each other for balance and intonation.

I would like to volunteer my daughter. Now I'll be the first to admit she's not very good, but she has 'absolutely loved' the violin her whole life and she tries hard and practices 'loads' (funny, I've never heard her). She even comes with her own violin, it's blue and cost a lot.

I used to be able to play quite well. Havent touched a violin in about 7 years though. would need time to learn again!
