    I can't believe it's only a 9!

The beast is in for a big service and I have been riding a shop bike for the last couple of days. Its a blue XB9Sx and now I know why this model is so popular. Its cornering ability is amazing, feels so different to the X1 cos I'm sitting so upright on it, feels like I'm perched OVER the tank... Only took one corner for me to feel right at home on it.

Then I had to lanesplit just to get ON to the motorway and thats when I discovered that those stock plastic motorcross style 'thingys' on the handlebars are a friggin pain in the butt. Clipped every wing mirror on the onramp...its a narrow 2-laner merging into one as you actually go onto the motorway...OOPS! (Talking about the Khyber Pass onramp heading south).

So bearing that in mind I was slightly cautious when it came to splitting between trucks LOL. Anyway, onto its power delivery... ok so I expected it to be zippy around town but this thing is seriously torquey and LOUD!!!!!!!! OMG its LOUD. I had a ball blipping thru the traffic scaring the crap out of everyone, no shit! I could actually see car drivers jumping in shock/surprise...what the? jesus what was THAT? he he he

Well I was feeling VERY impressed with it and even more so when I got to open road and gave the throttle a twist. It leapt forward at a rate of knots. Honestly this 9 has as much grunt as any 12 I've ridden. Its like a rocket launcher...or should that be grenade launcher??? Cos guys you have gotta HEAR this baby. Ok so I haven' taken it to its top-end limit but it doesn't seem to hit the rev limiter like the stock model 9 will often do so I'm a bit sad that I have to return it today without giving it a full-on thrash.

I always say to people who ask, that riding a Buell is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes still on and this bike does NOT disappoint.

The only negative I have found is the same negative I encountered with the Speed Triple. Cos of the very upright sitting position and miniscule fairing you are very exposed to the elements. Yesterday it was windy riding home and at 110-120kph I was getting seriously buffeted. Any faster and I would have been uncomfortable... but other than that I reckon this bike is the bomb.

If you can't fucking split without damaging peoples property, then don't. That's how your dumb ass (deservedly) gets run off the road.

I love my 12, its never seen 200km/h since Ive owned it, and never will so long as Im riding it, the fun is listening to her howl as I short shift her. fling her in and out of corners, its just about having fun, they were never built for anything other than having fun, but boy do they have there knockers, Oh well each there own.

The bloody down side to the bike, is it destroys rear tyres like they are going out of fashion.
Oh and I wish I could ride.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.
