    TUSSOCK BUSTER 28-29 March

    So who's going?
    www.offlimits.co.nz
Saturday and Sunday, 28-29 March 2009, TUSSOCKBUSTER two-day trail:
The area for the two-day trail ride is massive – 63,000 hectares of pristine land – rolling hills, unpolluted rivers and lakes, native bush, gravel roads and hundreds of kilometres of tank tracks that contain no whoops at all.
Mike Ross, the chief organiser, has developed four main tracks ranging in terrain and difficulty. The first three tracks range from 10km-45km with detours for difficult areas and short cuts home. The forth track is up to 90km with river crossings, formed trails and shortcuts home prior to the 50km mark. There is even the opportunity to ride your bike right onto the top of the dam wall at Lake Moawhango (a massive lake hidden just off the Desert Road). A fuel tanker, providing 95 octane fuel, will be positioned at the 50km point and fuel can be purchased for $2 per litre. Two kids tracks will also be available. One is right beside the camping area and the other is a flat to gently rolling 5km track.
The camping facilities are out of this world! It’s like a new level of luxury. Camping will be on and around the Waiouru rugby field (just beside the Army Museum). The camping area is nicely mowed, flat, sheltered by trees and has hot showers and flush toilets. Additional portaloos will be provided so that riders and campers don’t have to walk too far. To top it all off, the Waiouru rugby club rooms are right there and will be open for your use. Once the riding is finished for the day, enjoy a few beers (the Army has really low priced beers) and watch videos and photos of the day’s riding in the comfort of the rugby club.
The Army is going all out to impress. There will be tanks, trucks, artillery and soldiers all on display at the camping area. Some of the rides start from within the camp so there are additional opportunities, as you ride through the camp, to see how soldiers live, what they do and the equipment they use.
. Already, Blue Wing Honda and the Honda Riders Club are enthusiastically embracing the concept. They plan to have their own ‘Honda village’ at the event and promote TUSSOCKBUSTER via their rider’s club database alongside other manufacturers, motorcycle shops and clubs. Expect to see hundreds of Honda riders attending the event. It will be great to see all the other brands, bike shops and motorcycle clubs organising their own groups at the camping zone. It could all look pretty impressive.

Mine and Oldskools family will be there. We are bringing down a Army tent (going with the theme) as well for our pits area. I'll be in a White Subaru with a big blue furniture trailer. Heading down on Friday arvo/early evening if anyone else wants to tag along with us.
