Was with Kiwibiker for my 07 Bandit 1250,rang them to change from old bike to new, seems thecompany they had me with forgot to update bikkes,2 calls and sorted, think the premium on $12000 was $60mth,named rider only me,$300excess off hand.Anyway they did it with Swann, after a year or so I found my policy had lapsed as 3 premiums not paid(I wrote to say could my policy be put on hold for 3mths as I wasn't allowed to drive or ride for 8-12weeks due to surgery),anyway upon ringing Swann direct they started a new policy and premium was $35mth.Same conditions with gear etc, excess but saved almost half the premium.Upon trading bike on gixxer the policy was ammended, and no noticeable increase in premium.
Had no issues with Kiwirider, except the mucking around with getting bikes changed, not their fault, and was reasurring they said bike was covered by temporary cover until new policy was issued, and by this time was mid December and into holiday mode.
And they offer 3 free $20-30 fuel top ups if needed 3 times annually iirc.

Yes it's for the speedmaster. I was going to find out if the AA membership that I have for the car would also include the bike or not.
But if Kiwibike insurance comes with the roadside assistance I guess it's a moot point. Thanks for the info.
PS: Have you compared sitting on a '11 speedmaster? I sat on a '09 or '10 model, and found it to be quite a big difference. They made some nice changes imo.
Correct, it was the first thing I noticed. Go sit on a '11 model if you can find one somewhere and you'll see.
As for the insurance, I think I'll go with Kiwibike, based on their quote and the recommendations they receive on this forum.
Although the Honda insurance is a bit cheaper, I value good recommendations over price. And so far, no one on this forum was able to vouch for the Honda insurance.
Thanks for all the input.
Dont go with vero............aka golightly........
I'm with Swann through Kiwibike - the best guys/girls to deal with.
Only $396 a year and that includes my gear and callouts etc.

A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.
I suppose age, endorsements etc will also affect prices,
I have my bike insured through the AA (automobile Assosc') but I've been a member for 20yrs, They offered the best all round deal for me. However, we have the new beastie (Can Am) insured through kiwibike.... so would give them a thumbs up.

Yeh I would like to know also, I was with Kiwi who were very good but the rates went way up which was nothing to do with them but I started looking around and went with Golightly, the price was much better and I got better coverage with Vero than Swann. I crashed recently and apart from an issue with the police report not going to the insurance company holding things up its all be plain sailing on coverage of bike and gear. I'd rate both Golightly and Kiwibike as really good to deal with and its only policy pricing that would make me choose one over the other.
In the words of Juan-Manuel Fangio "Brakes they only slow you down"
I've seen a few bike claims through work with golightly being the insurer, spoke to the underwriter there (I forget his name) and they seem pretty decent. The claims all got paid out so I was happy at least.
Premiums seemed reasonable, claim turnaround not too long, THEY ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN I CALL, what more do you want.
Bike insurance is great compared to car insurance (strange because of the likelihood of crashing on a bike is higher). For full insurance for my car, the premium was 3 times the value of the car and the excess was close to the value of the car. Third party was near extortionate. (20 years old full licence no crashes no insurance claims).
For a Hyosung 250 the premium I was quoted from Protecta was about $400 and $600 excess (learners licence).
Looks like I'm selling the car, it's only a fast umbrella for me anyway.
