Perhaps this is nothing to do with the fact that you actually drink, more the, I have a blot on the trusty license that says I have been pinged for DUI. I cant answer how a DUI afects your ability to get insurance, or what sort of excess you pay.

I do not drink and drive, I don't want /cannot afford a DUI conviction. Living "rural' makes life difficult without a licence. If I wish to go to the pub... I ask for a ride (courtesy coach or mate), the ride home, depends on which home I may end up in... his or mine.

I think you will find that the original posters 'Drinking' reference was tongue-in-cheek and she has no intention of drinking and riding. I think she just wants to know if any NZ firms offer discounted rate for ladies.

And the answer seems to be a big NO..............

I would think it was more of a spelling fuck-up rather than a tongue in cheek comment, but hey, it's all fun.

It was actually a typo and should have been driving, hence the 'drinking' remark. Again this just goes to show that oe shouldn't presume that people will get what you mean when you have made a mistake!!

I would never drive a bike drunk!!
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.

Try David Golightly (Vero Insurance) in your own fair city of Chch. I've been with him for several years through the Honda Riders Club. I think this is the right number: 03 3572428

You obviously had having a drink on your mind. Quite reasonable for a Friday evening. I'd had a couple myself, which is probably why I was a bit slow on the uptake.

Good luck with finding a reasonably priced insurance company.
