    Westpac ride pics help

    Plan B.

Figured I could best serve the cause by taking some pics and doing the write up for KR - so I camped on an over bridge with a view to hooking on to the tail of the ride after it passed and then get some of the presentations etc.

I got some OK pics of the parade, but by the time I got back to the bike and on to the freeway it was three lanes of stationary - and I'm on a Rocket III which I love dearly but with the bags fitted it just doesn't work lane splitting on Newmarket flyover - figured it would all be over by the time I caught up.

(Was there an incident? There were several pleeece vehicles in a hurry during.)

So I'm looking for some images and an approximate head count that I can use on the KR web site please.

Killer 'in motion' shots and start and finish.

Only need low res for web - plus what you want for the photo credit.

    attach 'em here easiest

Yep but the WestPac guys and girls got a whole lotta dinero! and we all got there and back safely, a great ride and thanks to the organisers, the weather was perfect and the riders were mostly curteous and kind.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

    Was a good ride.
I came up from Hamilton. Met some mates up in Akl at the bombay service centre and headed off from there.

Left Hammy at 6.30am. Was great riding through the mist and fog, got pretty heavy round the river near Huntly.

But the ride was awesome. Was great seeing all the different bikes. Pretty much all types were represented.

It was amazing to see a line of bikes as far as the eye could see along the motorway, having all the lights set to green going through auckland was something special too.

It was a lot of fun and pretty much everyone rode in the spirit of the ride so that was good. I don't think they closed the on ramps as the ride went through this year but even so the ride was disrupted too badly by the cars.

I am already looking forward to next years ride.

    Thanks Ulysses!

I saw ya on the Greenlane(ish?) overbridge!

Bloody good effort by everyone involved! A lot of organisation required.
