This is a 2000 model and in my mind the best colour model KTM made....
It is my old bike, pre NZKTM, why oh why did I sell it....
Tell you something, I would like to buy it back off him when the time comes, but me thinks it will be a stayer.....CrazyFrog is relishing it down there, when he has the time away from Daddy duties...
The model came with a nice roadbook speedo computer and it did look hot, agree.
I would hasten to say that there are maybe 4 or 5 bikes at the most from the pre 2003 vintage and I know where three of them are...
I think there may be a 2002 same as mine around, but as for the 2000 above, I don't know.
its a very sexy blue...
i cleaned my suzi...very clean now...

Hey Joe, Woohoo, you put me on the Wall of Coolness. You rock.
Mine is a year 2000, 640 Adventure with standard LC4 motor, not the newer model hi-flow head LC4 model like Warewolf's. I love it, vibrations and all.
It's pretty standard apart from the Magura hydraulic clutch fitted by first owner, and is now sporting an orange 525EXC front guard, the blue guard died on the rocks up Mt Altimarloch on the Dusty Butt '09. Something else died 850km into the same ride, but I'll try not to mention that.... it's all good again now and we're getting out amongst it again regularly.
Might see ya on my way North sometime, or when you lot come south again.
yes dont think we meet when we, soiled your fine land.
i do feel the orange side calling......Katooomm....Katoommm.
shame the blue fairing got damaged, its very nice one.

Nah, the fairing is still sweet, just the mudguard took a beating. Photos of the bike on Nelson Rideouts, Hori Bay last weekend.
My year - 2005 - was the first year KTM NZ imported more than 1, and that was only 2!! So we are only talking 10 bikes 1997-2005. There are more '06s, I thought 2x hire bikes from Papakura and a couple more to private owners, not sure; but by any measure NZ-new 640A's are a pretty rare thing. There are also a few used imports about.
The '03 with high flow head, high front guard, single front disc, output shaft roller bearing model is considered the pinnacle of development as the later low guard twin disc front end is not so dirt-worthy. However the 50mm Extreme fork on the '00 model is considered the best-handling front end.
Cheers,
Colin
