Hard for them to angle the screen back any more as it would get caught under your helmet and there wouldn't be room for the navigation equipment.

The COOL ADV bikes have always looked like Dakar/Safari/Rally Raid bikes, From the humble r80gs to the Yamaha Tenere, Honda Africa twin, DR Big, KTM 640/95xAdv just to name a few.

You can use any make/model as an adv bike but theres a very good reason "we" covet these Dakar derrived bikes - They are the best bikes for what we do as delivered from the factory. But most importantly they look cool!!!!!!

Probably .2 seconds after testosterone was invented, which pre-dates the invention of both fire and the wheel. Bet those bikes looked funny!!

Too right! Add to that list the TDM (back a few pages), the Cagiva Elefant (back some more - and the first dual-purpose bike I lusted after), or as late as the mid-nineties when these things first came out:

    (Big Dave pic)

All are production dual-purpose/adventure bikes, albeit based on rallye bikes - some more closely than others.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Saw this at the Woodhill forest trail ride today. The guy had recently bought it off trade me. I've always liked these.

I didn't ask. He did say that it wasn't going at the time, but he has since sorted it. He reckons he can start it by hand now. That would not be my cup of tea. The tank has a couple of dents, but the overall patina of the bike is nice.
