    Winter Weekend Day Rides

Being new to the KB site I was just wondering what happens after daylight savings reverts back and the WNR end do to the onset of lack of light??

Do you do or have weekend day rides organized???

not necessarily weekly but maybe fortnightly or monthly??? weather dependant

could be longer day rides say to kaikoura, springs junction, hanmer, arthurs pass, The Chequed flag etc...

just an idea of not already done...

if not who would be interested???

Go for it and organise some mate. The trouble with winter is the unpredictability of the weather, which tends to mean rides get organised on a one off basis, rather than regularly.

I may not be riding over winter as the other half is trying to convince me to put the rego on hold for a few months. I don't need to hit black ice again!!

    Sheesh!! I've been told!!

I figure I'll survive cause I should be racing my bucket over winter, but I know if I do put my rego on hold it'll be a really nice winter, with no frosts or wild weather

Hey 3umph, I will be keen for the odd sunday ride if the weather is not too bad and dependant on custody etc etc ....

I'm sure Bent51 would be up for it, he is an all weather all year rider
These aren't the bikes we're looking for....

why don't you post one for the first weekend you feel keen..?
see who turns up? Great idea though.
I would be keen...trouble being that I am only there 4 weeks..then gone for 4...etc.
Weather doesn't scare me to much....
    Lets do one....
( I am back in April)
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

If the weather's good we can just post up in this thread or the WNR thread to get a few people together on Wednesday nights. Hell, even if the weather's crap there could still be people eager to get out.

I remember one time this season when it was pissing down, wet as buggery, and yet I think we still had myself, Dave, The Hornet, and maybe Bent all turn up, as well as a couple of others. I didn't actually go riding (but then, I never do right?) but I think a couple of people went chasing drier pasters out Oxford way, or something.

I know I'm not done riding yet, bloody hell I missed out on half of Summer!

For sure... I'm always up for a ride if I'm not working or got something else on.

I'm up for riding in crappy weather as well.
I had to run my bike in when we had all the snow last year, and only just got come in time.
Heated grips are at their best when you need to turn them to max heat.

    If you remember right.

i cant understand why people have to think about it, riding is riding, good weather or bad. all it changes is if you have a hot cup of milo or a cold drink of coke when you stop for lunch. (or stronger stuff).
