so how much to do the big end, piston, top end
Dunno about that, have my bike on 65hrs on top end atm and has no-where near the power of a newer top end. I know this as fmx ramp i usualy hit in 2nd requires 3rd. As for crank at 200... Mine went in my CRF at 40. For no reason at all. $2100 in bills, and that was with the spares kit that came with my bike, so who knows how much It would have been If I had to pay for everything.
yeah but hold on, your compareing a 525 to a 250, generally rev the 250 alot harder than a 525, the 525 is a exc and the 250 sxf. the 525 doesnt have to work as hard to get the power the 250 gets, shall we compare apples with apples instead of apples and penuts??
alot of the mataince comes down to the oil changes its gets, my husky requires oil changes at 16 hour intevals but i service at 5 hour intervals, then i know its always right. oil and filters are cheap when compared to rebuilding engines all the time!
they run a workshop and service bikes think they know what they are doin. and yes slipper clutch let you change a lot harder.

i got one, but don't ask me about anything mechanical, as I just give it to the shop and pay my money. It is an excellent MX bike, looks good, rides well on open trails, I have difficulty with it on tight trails. I have got heaps of youtube footage, just click on my link below.
As I am a trail rider, in hindsight I would get an EXC, as I want a bloody electric start!. And after hours of riding your butt hurts like hell, as the seat is not designed for trail riding.
It is nice and light, about 98kg's, and keeps up with 450's, just with less torque out of the turns. And for some reason, it is a bitch to kick over when I drop it (happens a lot) haha
