    Question Motorcycle parks?

    Hey all, quick question -

I was in town the other day and I praked the whoflung sprotsbiek in one of those yellow MC parks. It was an angle park and right alongside regular carparks. As soon as I left someone in an SUV pulled in there straight after me. I let it go at the time as I didn't need the park anymore anyway.

My question is - are cars allowed to use these parks at all when they do not have motorcycles in them? Or are they strictly for motorcycles only, regardless of whether they are occupied or not?

    Cheers

Motorcycles only. But that doesn't stop RSTs (Remuera Shopping Trolleys) from parking wherever they @#$% well please. They will only get a ticket for parking in a disability spot, so no penalty for mothers/prams/motorcycle spots.

Aren't the bike parking spots usually too small for cars to park in anyway?

Not this one. It's in central Taupo, and the same size as a carpark, and right next to the carparks too.

So I would be within my rights as a motorcyclist to politely inform said car driver that they have to move their car so I can park there if I had nowhere else to park?

In my experience they've always been about the size of a normal carpark but of course depending on whether it is parallel or angle park you can fit between 3 and 7 bikes in one car spot.

Ok. Now that I know they cannot park there, I shall ask the next one to move. Or leave a subtle note on their windscreen.

I always liked the "next time you want to park so close, leave a fucking can opener so i can get out"

my partner had that left on her windscreen.

I think I have to agree.

You can't be subtle with Taupo drivers.

Especially if they are in a SUV.

There is ALWAYS somewhere to park a motorcycle. I'd just park on the footpath or in a garden. Shrug, its not worth getting wound up about.
