The adjuster nuts will be so you can get the correct tension on the cables so the servo motor works at optimum. But i was expecting the book to be able to tell us what that was? Like tightish cables or a bit of play in them and what angle the arm should be at closed. It does on the manual ones!
Which gives me an Idea! If we have put to much tension on the cables maybe that is causing the motor to stick and flick open when its at 3/4 throttle?? Try backing it off until the cables only have minimal tension on them?? I expected the manual to have told us more, but say as much tension as like a throttle cable!
I still would have expected you to notice a large change in power delivery if the power valve was staying closed until 3/4 throttle though, it would seem dead as!
Secondly when you go to the Honda dealer have an ask there about the set up for the power valve and cables seeing its not in the manual.
But I still have a little problem in connecting a flat spot with the power valve. I'd still be stripping the carb especially if its been dealing with all that crud that was in the airbox and if you haven't had the carb off for a clean in a long time.
You still didn't say if this flat spot was there from the start or if it developed after a while?
Oh and now its run in and you can rev it to 8k, take the cover off and make sure its operating smoothly.
We couldn't do that on the night on a fresh motor could we??

the nut was NOT on for the inital dome valley mish saturday but that was really a run in period, i only gave it some towards the end, which is when i noticed it, it has got worse since I toot2ed with it. By reattaching the nut I have tensioned the cable and it had heaps of bog down low later tonight. Pretty sure a new cable with help heaps and heading towards less tension..
Yeh mate given that reply! I'd get that power valve set up right! Does it open suddenly when you rev it in the garage! I'd hate to think we are putting to much pressure on that servo. Specially if its worse since you had another go at it. Better get that new cable and make sure its set right and opens smooth! Let us know how you go OK! If you get desperate I'll give John a call at Botany Honda he's really helpful!! PM me your phone number, we should go for a ride sometime anyway!

just had read through the manual not very clear is it but it dose say it automatic addjustment once set up and gose in to detail on how to test its operatoin did you get a copy of the manual??? did you guys decarbon the power valves ???

There was very little carbon on the flap and it worked really well with the barrel off so we didn't strip it out! Spent so much time explaining it to the others we didn't think we had time by then. Although if we had of known when you where going to be done we could have.
Manual: Red had loose pages but we sorta left it as the cable adjuster was snapped and the bolt and a bit of threaded adjuster was sitting down on the arm. It needed promt attention anyway.

lol. oh hi guys! im a bit late
pretty much what cheese says.
have the cables to they arent slack, but arent tight. they self adjust as far as initial position goes, so its not that.
and if you have shitty cables, replace them
