Ah yes, with all that experience you must be right.

Everyone hit the brakes every time, our resident authority on driving has decreed this is the appropriate action.

I think you need new glasses because that is not what I said at all.

You seem to exemplify your first quote

No, I realise only too well you were only intent on covering your arse.

This is of course weaseling and tends to bring out the cynic in me. Have the strength of your convictions and be prepared to defend them if necessary.

i have 9 tonnes to stop, the truck is unloaded, and my snake brake is on.

Prolly a shitty old drum brake canter or something was it ?
Snake brake lol first time i've heard it called that hissssssssssssss !
You doing your 2L are ya ?

40 kph , unloaded, if it was dry i would've stomped on the picks probably, but hey i wasn't there, was your call !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Out of curiosity, what do you think the stopping distance of the truck would be from, say, 50 km/h? Loaded and unloaded. (Bearing in mind that the stopping distance for a vehicle decelerating from 50 km/h at 1 g is 9.84 m, which is about what most cars & bikes would actually do on a dry road. But Skidmark can stop in 2 m.)

And what is this "snake brake" you speak of? An engine brake?

I'm busy hiding from Our Lord Chuck Norris, I'm thinking his greatness may have seen what I wrote and is about to kick over my house and then give me the punch of 1000 bearded fists. Little known fact is he scissor kicked the H out of Wanganui.

in the meantime I'm drafting a submission to get the H put into Masterton.....and maybe a u.

    Mhasterton?

i dont have alot of faith in this trucks brakes, and whats better, 9 tonnes of mass sliding uncontrolled, or 9 tonnes of direct-able mass?

i saw the kid on his knees about i foot from the rear tires as we passed him.
big dual tires on the rear, very easy to go under.

i laughed afterward, i saved the kids life, but should i have braked?
YES, YOU SHOULD HAVE BRAKED, YOU SHOULD HAVE COVERED THE BRAKE AS SOON AS YOU SPOTTED SAID MA AND TODDLER, BASIC LICENCE SHIT THERE.......you didn't save the kids life, that was luck, you get taught (well I did) to control the hazards, don't wait until your locking it up and praying it turns out well with the typical swerve right thing (which is human reaction-to turn the same way as the hazard is moving)

Seriously...., you should have been ready for that shit as soon as you saw it, maybe you needa scan a bit further?

Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.
