    Norton evading questions?

    Google 'Pifts.exe'
    Come here.

    Discuss.

On Nortons forum site, any posts mentioning pifts.exe is deleted within seconds of being posted. Norton/Symantec will not say anything about it.

Guys/Girls, what the hell is going on?
It's an undeleteable file. That's no biggie, but Norton sure is going head over heels trying to ignore this.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

i found this on the internet

"From what I understand it seems to be some kind of a virus that is linked to terrorism. If you disassemble it you can see that the IP it connects is in northern africa. A cyber attack may be imminent. Back up your data, folks"

    it certainly fits the bill.

I'm not trying to be a tinfoilhatman, but it seems as if Nortons servers were messed around with, and a not nice man could have just slipped through...
There's a shitload of ruckus about it.

Please do not use the holy name of Norton when you are not referring to a motorcycle !

    Call it Symantec.

Googling the name of an uncured virus might not be the smartest thing to do.

But seriously, you need to address this sooner rather than later.

Try starting in safe mode and deleting the file.

Failing that, change the file attributes to remove the read only status use 'attrib -r' from command line.

Failing that, remove the hard drive and clean it from another computer.

    Failing that I charge $85/hour.

Install Hijackthis, select delete file, select file, reboot.

No need to remove hard drive simply to delete a file.
