Good job. He gave the lovely police/highway patrol folk a bad name.

If he's riding post his rego number so the world can keep an eye out!

Ill stand corrected here but as I understand it every time a new bunch of recruits gets out of porerua they get a couple of weeks on exactly this duty. blitz around the country focussing on DIC wof etc

To date I have heard of nobody being DIC'd over the weekend. There may have been some but I've got a finger on the pulse and heard nothing.

I'm going to contact the po-lice tomorrow to see what their take on the operation is. I have no objection to removing drunks or unsafe bikes from the road.

    Otherwise, OTT police operation folks.

Still cant see what the problem is,the cops target boy racers and no doubt wave Mr n Mrs through in the Hillman Hunter,so there targeting bikes,so what.If you look at it from there point of view as in a heap of bikes riding pub to pub etc its a no brainer really,if they didnt do it do you really think everyone on said bikes would behave as they should?

Yeah, yeah, point taken. Actually a very good point.
As I've said elsewhere drunk bikers (or drunk anyone) should be removed from the road, I don't have any issue with that, but the operation was a very pointed attack. For the taxpayers dollar versus return I'd say a blitz outside a rugby club, golf club or RSA would have better retruns, especially in terms of DIC's.

The HP were doing the "see and be SEEN" routine. Word of their presence would have spread fast. Those that would have driven pissed..... didn't. As such, their mission was successful.

For every Cop you see, there are more you didn't... If you assume otherwise, good luck.

Yep fair call, last weekend at the March Hare i sat around awhile with 4-5 others and shot the breeze whilst awaiting certain sobriety, big weekend had by many and we gave a few a wave goodbye that without doubt were over the limit by miles when they departed,i only had a 20 minute ride home but was very surprised to not see one cop on the road home,i stopped just out of Glenavy when i came across 2 bikes 3 people, one bike lying on its side, the 3 of them were still well pissed and the bike on its side was that way cause the guy didnt put the sidestand down when he stooped for a chuck.....go figure.

Well i gave them a bit of time to sober up anyway as whilst helping to pick up the bike i removed the key bid them goodbye and carried on homeNo idea what became of them but no doubt there plight didnt interfere with anyone elses life, some reading of my actions may well find them annoying,i couldnt give a fuck,i did them a favour.

Answer? Don't drive/ride pissed. Fair call.

However, there were more cops present than was required to get the job done. Or, perhaps it takes dozens of NZ coppers to do the job that cops from other nations take in their stride. (?)

Will they care even then? only thing they care about is their punishment, then when that is paid off they go out and do it again and again till they end up killing themselves and others.
