Do your list of Pros and Cons. ie; +'s wife happy, you happy, social outting, etc. -'s initial $, ongoing $, wife not happy, away time from family etc.

a 14 year old bike will be needing stuff doing to it over the next few years which will cost, or result in a headlong dive into obscurity (you'll stop riding it)

but triumphs look gay and arnt that fast if your guna up grade get something that says hay look at me im fast as hell and look great cuz who wants a fast bike that looks like crap get the bling get a screamer
