Ah you might want to check facts there, police have the power to issue a notice forbidding you to drive/ride any vehicle at their discretion upto 24/48 hours.
This can be from anything, no license, impaired through drugs/alcohol or even just coz your being a crunt.

    My thoughts exactly.

I got pulled over when I snuck out on my old mans CB900 when I was 15.
Was lucky though they did a WOF and Rego check then let me go

As mentioned though, you have to be doing something wrong, or silly in the first place... unless of course you ride into a blitz point.

Realistically though, nobody will batter an eye if you ride like you have ridden the bike for years.

HOWEVER suspicion will arise if you ride a big bike like you are still learning.

If you plan on owning a 400, then you can apply for exemptions if you have a good case... like you don't fit on a 250.

Else, best you just ride it on a closed road, or private land.

I thought the biggest Honda made in the mid 70s was a CB750?

theres a massive volume of people who ride on restricteds and the like. I rode a 400 for 2 years on a restriced and now have the blade and still cant really be arsed getting a license. Never been pinged which still amazes me, 2 1/2 years and no chat to Mr. plod. thinking about it ive only ridden a legally about 3 times since ive ahd a license. damn. but ive heard of a few on here that rode for many a years on learners and the like.

basically if you ride too get caught you will. if not you wont (usually, maybe once). even then if its no biggie that got you stopped in the first you often will get a let off. ride a 400 or a 650 or a 900 if you want but factor in to your budget that everytime you ride it may cost you 400 bucks.

They used to just extend the licence period by 6 months. End of story.

I think my learner licence got extended by about 6 years in total, although I don't think at any time that meant I couldn't sit the test the next day, I'd had the thing for so long.

It was only after they started dishing out fines and demerits that I actually decided to pull finger out and jump through the rest of the hoops.

Probably cunts like me that have made it so hard for everybody else.

And if you had an accident and took my bike out from under me at the same time.....your insurance company would not have a piece of it and my insurance company would not hesitate sueing the shirt of a yer back with my blessing.....

2 Issues. 1 is insurance, the other is if you ever crash and the KB PC Brigade finds out, they'll rip on you about it for several years

The upside is, a 600 in great condition often costs the same or less than a 250 in similar condition.
