    Insurance companies?

I'm looking at getting insurance on a CBR250; State won't insure me, AMI want around $60/month for full cover and NAC want around $53/month for full cover. What other companies do you guys recommend for a 'high risk' rider on a learners?

Try Dave and the team at Kiwibike Insurance, underwritten by Star. Specialists in bike insurance and great to deal with.

Perfection is not something you should ever attain, but something to always strive for. For if we actually achieve our idea of perfection, is it then any longer perfect?

    I second KiwiBike Insurance.
Also depends on what you wont to cover. Mine is about $830 a year, could have got it at $500 but didn't cover what I wanted.
I may be slow at getting things but..... no wait I'm just slow.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead
Do not walk ahead as I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me as the path is narrow

What ever you do, get some insurance, even if only 3rd party.

The best thing about NZ insurance is that we don't have compulsory 3rd party cover. This means it is very affordable.

I have 3rd party cover with AMI, (thats not a plug!) and the 3rd party cover will fix my bike if someone else crashes into me, as long as I can identify them. (ie don't die till you text their rego number to mum.)
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.

I don't think it really matters who you are going with if you are just getting third party, but definitely go for a specialist motorcycle insurer if you are getting full insurance (ideally with an agreed valuation as opposed to a nebulous "market value").

Watch the excess, particularly ones that start adding up quickly: i.e. 400 for a claim + 400 if you're under 25 + 400 if you're at fault and so forth...

Can't be arsed to read other replies but just wanted to recommend John Baker Insurance. They've been the cheapest for me for five years and were top notch when I had to make a claim.
