they run an excellent trackday, in my experience. I did the one a week or so ago and had a great time.

    n00b fight!

    I got this earlier.

This coming Sunday, 22nd March, Honda Riders Club of New Zealand is running an Aaron Slight Rider Development Day at Taupo Motorsport Park.
We are very excited about the day as we have just been advised that Honda Motorcycles New Zealand will be 'previewing' and demonstrating the new CBR600RR 2009 model fitted with the new Electronic Combined ABS. This is a chance to see the new bike and get feedback on the new ABS system and the new motor which has some tweaks for 2009. The E-CABS system is not an ordinary anti-lock braking device, it is technologically advanced enough to allow performance feel and improved braking assistance to enhance the sports bike overall package rather than simply control it or make it safer.

This is unheard of and a first for New Zealand and also a first for existing Honda owners - showing how much Honda Motorcycles New Zealand believe in the Riders Club and it's activities.

While the event is fully booked at the moment, you are invited to call in and be a part of this exciting preview if you're around to say hello.

Aaron will be joined by double WSBK Champion, Fred Merkel and Honda New Zealand Superbike rider and winner of the 2009 Robert Holden Trophy at Wanganui Streets and also 2009 King of the Streets at Paeroa - Craig Shirriffs with his 2009 HRC Honda Fire Blade Superbike. So a double whammy for the attendees this weekend.

This is your chance to hear the opinions on the latest bike technology from these three brilliant riders, and to see the latest bike from Honda.

So why not get out for a ride and come to Taupo Motorsport Park on Broadlands Road, taupe between 10.a.m and 4.30 this Sunday.

If you missed out on this weekends' booking keep an eye on our website for our next Rider Development Day and book early - you may get to see or try something new next time!

I'm riding down to this on Saturday afternoon from Auckland....(been booked in for ages for my first track day)...anyone else going down/ thinking about going down who would like someone to ride with?

I have the use of a mates holiday house in Taupo, so accomodation could be sorted too if you were keen.
It wasn't me, it was like that when I found it. Honest.

I'd be keen. Was just about to book accommodation but if you're up for sharing that'd be mint.

What sort of time are you thinking? I have stuff to do in the morning and I need to grab some new tyres before I head down so probably wouldn't be ready to leave before 3-4pm.
