    Another failure of the cutter

Tootling up to Auckland yesterday I saw more indication that the garrotting wire is ineffective. A beautiful set of skid makes (from a cage) across the lane, across the grass and across the first of the opposite lanes. The car had dropped into a shallow dip causing the nose of the car to dip and it simply went completely under the wire. Let’s see them try that with a concrete barrier or a steel rail for that matter. So now the have another expensive repair on a crap system. Would have been cheaper to put concrete in in the first place.

Anyone else see signs of failure of these barriers... post it here

It is a wonder the driver was not decapitated. I would love to see the car, be a good picture to use. Friggen horrible things!

I hope that this accident gets reported and investigated. The fact that it is a car and not a motirbike that the cheese cutter has failed with will IMO carry a lot more influence.
