    Road conditions

We tend to bag road conditions a lot, and rightly so in many cases.

Reading White Trash's account of his highside just now did fire a couple of neurons in the old brain. There has been at least one HUGE improvement on the roads that I have noticed as a BAB.

    Signage

Especially indicated speed signs for corners. They are waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I remember from the days of yore. Not only are they all pervading, even on the minor roads, but, best of all, they are remarkably consistent. I know, for example, that any indicated speed above 65 kmh means I don't need to downshift and I can judge my likely braking point distance depending on the actual indicated speed.
At 65kmh it requires a downshift out of 6th to 5th to give me the drive out that I feel comfortable with and so on and so forth with other speeds.

For those of you that did not experience the joys of estimating required speeds in the 70's and 80's let me tell you that our road signs today are undervalued treasures.

Anyone else have anything they see as a big improvement on our roads?

The single biggest thing I have noticed is the lack of maintenance on roads. Certainly the most common being, loss of stone chips and a lot more tar patches.
I've also noticed a lot more rubbish, bleemin younger generation!
O and a lot more hardleys, bleemin older generation!

The overall signage is better on the roads these days and they have straightened a lot of the good roads that were good to ride on....

    BUT!!!!!
