I am going to sell my R80G/S soon. I thought I'd let people know soon enough.
I've cleaned it up, but it's by no means restored. Still needs work. Should be a good basis for an Airhead special.

I've just reinstalled the carbs. Hooked up the battery, adjusted to the basic settings and pushed the starter. Turned over strongly, but did not fire. Then I thought, perhaps if I open the fuel tap first, that might make a difference. Voila, started straight away. Fiddled with the idle a little bit, than took it for a quick spin down the road. I pulls and shifts better than Basil, the clutch is way easier to use, but it stops even worse. Perhaps new pads will make a difference. All I need to do now is to cable tie all the wires back in place. Then I need to make sure the speedo runs true, before crimping the lid.
The bike has:
Powder coated (subframe, starter cover, pack rack, handle bars and battery box)
Stainless steel Staintune system
Good battery
New seat cover
The tank is near new, but I've managed to put a small dent in at the 42nd, you have to look closely. Something must have happened.
New Wilbers shock
Reconditioned Carbs (needle, jet, o-rings, diaphragms, and gasket)
New trip meter reset button (very expensive)
New air filter, oil filter, plugs and oils (need to change the oil yet)
Stuff I've forgotten I did
The bike needs:
The wiring is not pretty, probably will need a new loom
The front brake is poor
The steering head bearings are too tight, at least compared to Basil's
The frame could be powder coated
I could imagine that the starter motor might need cleaning.
The brake lever has a nice curve in it.
The rear fender has seen better days
What I would do if I kept it.
Put a new front end on it. That would take care of the head bearing, and the brakes as well.
Replace the loom once I found a good second hand one.
Ride it until I could afford to turn it into something special.
Another few weeks and it will turn up on Trade me

You left out the most important detail...
In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
The bike will now be sold as an R80G/S PD. This means with the PD tank. It is far from mint, but I believe it's a factory PD and not one that has been converted later. Breaking it up would be a shame and I've come to realize that I want to concentrate on my R80GS Basic. It does everything I want it to do, so the G/S is going, unless I win the lotto in the near future. I have a figure in mind, but I am open to offers. I am not desperate to sell it as it is not going to go bad in my garage. Oh, the tank will definitely not be sold separately.
Here it is with the PD tank.
