I wonder how either of these would go on the PD, suitably resprung of course.

The issue will not be the front forks themselves, but the triple clamps, and the offset on those. The later the forks the better - the RM forks must be from the late 80's - look at the turquiose seat. Also think about what sort of life some of the forks have had, & what it might take to get these reconditioned....
I was planning to swap some XR600 43mm forks onto the Transalp but lost interest when I bought the WRR. They are complete with triple clamps, brakes, wheel - seized steering head bearings & speedo drive. Because of the PD's extra weight you should use a larger motard disc. Can take any measurements if required.

Experience have just traded a green R100GSPD with Ohlins. They want $6500, looks to be a tidy bike and has panniers as well.

Just bought 93 R100 GS, Any suggestions on how to assess condition of gearbox and final drive, apparently the gearbox only gets 60-100k before needing rebuild. How do you know if gearbox is noisy or U joints in drive shaft are worn without stripping everything. Also is gearbox doable yourself with decent workshop and tools. Cheers
I see paranoia has already set in. I am an expert at that myself.
Airheads always sound like they are about to self destruct, that's no cause for alarm. They are pretty easy to work on and all parts can be bought, well almost all. Eddie's found one that can't be bought anymore.
If you're in Auckland I'd be happy to have a look at your bike. Otherwise get someone who knows airheads to have a look. Island Bay, that's Wellington isn't it? Go see Michael at Motorad, I am sure he'd have a quick look at it.
