Yep, an airhead should sound like a pocket of loose change. It's when it's quiet that you have to worry.

And the one part no longer available is the metal bracket the springs attach to on the sidestand, minor in the greater scheme of things.

Hi all, just a few questions...i am thinking of getting a 1200gs or gs adventure.
whats the deal with having to get the service done by BMW? are you able to get them serviced by a general bike mechanic?
If ya don't get them serviced by BMW can you get aftermarket parts that are somewhat cheaper? I hear brake pads alone cost almost $400 a set?? I really love the look of these bikes, and if i got one would definitely want to put it to good use

i would get it serviced by dealer until out of warranty....absolutely no excuses then.If its a older bike get t serviced wherever. They do have some things that need resetting by a BMW service computer I think.Search the web,ADV rider have a huge forum just on these bikes.I take internet stuff with a grain of salt.

    This is pretty cool.

A Ride Report of a 1983 crossing of the Canning Stock Route in Aus on a pair of R80's, including pics and digitised super 8 video footage taken on the trip.
