The GSA power delivery is a little more restrained, doesn't quite bark as much, so I'm finding mid corner speed and acceleration is down a little, but I just need to ride the bike for a few thousand km. The BMW suspension feels more remote, whereas the KTM felt like my hands on the ground.

Handling for a bike weighing more than a quarter of a ton is still fantastic, and low speed handling is the best of any bike I have ridden. Indicators are still the "special" BMW ones, but I find I'm getting better at using them. 2011 still has the BMW indicators.

Whereas on the KTM you ride the top end power, on the GS you ride the midrange.

Never rode the KTM on the top end actually, as the fuel economy became a laugh (and so your range suffers). Did 1 track day, 10L / 100km trying to pass the 600's in my way.

You are still getting feedback, you just haven't yet learned what it's telling you.

Saw a very nice bumblebee GSPD today, parked on Stout St/Lambton Quay. Had a bunch of goodies - WP rear shock, 320mm front brake, oil filler valve cover, Touratech cases, Wudo screen - and looked tidy indeed. Anyone here know it?

Not like I could tempt you to ride it anyway.

I did actually come on the Tuesday right after, but you weren't there (normal day off). This last week, Tuesday again, I was in the area (figured you wouldn't be there). You really should work more

    I've recently bought myself a boxer, a '91 r80. I'm after an air-filter for it.

Shipping from the UK is rather expensive. :P Where do you lot get your spares from?

    Cheers.

I get all my stuff from motobins or motoworks inthe UK. There is a guy in Blenheim on Trademe that sells consumerables. If you search for bmw parts on the motorcycles section he should come up.

There you go I found him

I'll keep my eye on that trademe user.

I've ordered some stuff from motobins. Motorworks, however, their postage rates are ridiculous!

That's not a bad swap. I'll swap you a used R1100GS air filter for your R80.
