Apparently it got found pushed into the bushes not far from the backpackers. Maybe after banging their shins on the jugs a few times they gave up? The thieves can't have been that sharp as I'm guessing it wouldn't have taken much to hotwire.

Unfortunately I think it was run for a few thousand KMS with out any oil in it. Not sure how this was not noticed but there you go. Rebuild is a bit on the expensive side.
Thanks for the heads up on Igormortis even in the right city. GSers

Kane at R Twin Works was advertising used 2nd hand at $500, or rebuilt at $900 in the last Motoring Marketplace.

I was wondering the same thing, it sounds more like a DR ride to me.

well Phil & Eddie - I was only considering using the beemer since the DR rego is on hold till spring rego fees being what they are

However - the two of you by your questions are causing me to have second thoughts given I'm not the quickest or most confident of riders and would not want to hold you all up

    cheers S

With Pete aka KSlider's encouragement - I think I'll be in - just got to replace the fluids in the transmission / gearbox and get Don to fit the new TKC80 & refit the bash plate
