I like how the guy with the camera keeps searching for a dent in the road seal. Surprisingly enough, the roads seems to have survived unscathed.

I'm up for some new steering head bearings. Does anyone have the part no.s for the bearings and lower dust cap (r80)?

Looking at $75 for two bearings and the cap from moto-bins.

Bearings should be: 07119985070 and lower cap: 31421234509
Cross reference here to check it’s what you’re after.

Just checked motorworks.co.uk - unlike motobins you can just search by the BMW part no. and it will return results with their corresponding numbers. Also looks considerably cheaper than what you posted.

*edit: ah, I see. I thought you’d posted pounds, so yeah about 75ish.

OK, who owns the HP2 Enduro always parked in Grey St? Or any HP2 in the Wellington area for that matter. I need to make some measurements. Or should I just head into town with the vernier calipers?

Thats Gary's, don't think he visits here. He's in the BMW club if you're a member.

You can source these from any bearing shop. I got Nachi H-E320/28J. And I was careful when I took the old bearing off so I could reuse the cap. ...well okay, I did a little panel beating

FYI, the "donor" bike for this HPN replica is the one I am standing beside in my KiwiBiker avatar. Could not believe it when I saw my old black and silver number plate attached to this thing that Alastair had built!

PS, after a number of years with Dakar singles I am this week again an airhead GS owner.
