Doesent really hurt to wait at a line of traffic at the lights, does it?
You need to try living closer to auckland.
I used to save maybe 30 minutes on my commute from lanesplitting.
I currently save about 10 minutes or so riding up to the front of kilometre long queues.

firstly, it saves me over an hour day when I have to make an 8am lecture. 15 minutes of that is just at ONE traffic light.

secondly, my bike overheats if I sit in traffic

thirdly, I overheat if I sit in traffic

finally, I don't like start/stop traffic crawling along with the "rubber band" effect - especially when the wanker at the front of the queue he's caused is doing 40kph tops, causing him to arrive at every set of lights as they go orange on a road (seemingly) phased so that 50kph will get you straight through unimpeded

additionally, it just feels better.... plus I'm usually running late.

Nuking it past you - you mean, actually moving without feet paddling along the tarmac like I hear you do.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
