Maybe they don't hold the franchise (their business card still has Boyle Kawasaki on it) but they have plenty of experience and will be able to point him in the right direction.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

They're good guys. Failing that...ring Carl at Motorad and tell him what happened. Doubt he'd be too happy. And Carl is a good guy too.

Boyles can get new bikes if they want to. I got a new Kawasaki from Aussie through them as Kawasaki NZ decided not to bring them in that year and it was too hard for the local dealer.

    9 Grand!?!?
RRP * $7,470.00 although it does say it is subject to change i doubt it would change almost 2 grand. In fact i just checked the Hamilton dealer and they list the ninja at the RRP. What you should do is ring the dealer thats closest to you with the right price and ask them to ship it. Shouldnt cost more than $300.

Motorad have none in stock and told me prices are going up and they will be just over 9k including ORC. Then they tried to sell me a second hand one for 8k. That was after the guy went away to find out a price for 5 minutes but was actually talking to his mate. Nice way to treat a prospective customer. He was lucky I was still there, because I was about to walk out.

The Palmy dealer has them brand new in stock, under 8k including the ORC. Doesnt make sense to me. A potentially new customer for Motorad and they try to rip me straight off the bat.

I dont mind paying a bit more for something when you get great customer service, but when its crap, I'll go somewhere else everytime!

the Ninja 250R is going up to $7995 RRP on april 1st,

there would be dealers out there with $7800 ones left, and maybe even the $7490 ones from january,

as Crasher says above Carl from Motorad is a good guy, and the Boyle brothers now kawasaki's inside and out,

That's because Boyle Kawasaki is their registered company name, much to the disgust of another dealer who tried to get them to change it

No sweat with bike on trailer. The boys in the shop will be happy to oblige, and if they aren't then I would even consider buying a bike from them. And when you've seen it done once you'll know how to do it again (and you'll have the gear) not much - a couple of windsurfer ties (I use) and a couple of bits of 4/2 tacked into the trailer bed. Piece of the the proverbial piss.

The boys at motorad have been awesome to me over the years, Bevan even picked me up with a flat tyre on the Hutt Road once - I called them up. And they didn't charge me - they said we know you'll come back to buy your next bike off us. how's that for service - better keep that mum - haha - all I'm saying is there service is pretty sharp.

    Not Rude here,

but 250 Ninja are a piece of crap you are paying basically for the Look not the power or drive, i would never spend 8k on a bike with that performance its up to you tho, its your money

i was going to buy one as well, test drive a few with pipe and without
and i though they were shit, I'm 6 foot 2 Of course it's not really built with my lofty dimensions in mind, and yes, it does feel a bit small but it's also natural, uncramped and hardly uncomfortable

so i just held off and kept options open it looked on trade me
and scored my Beast! that i have atm .... more power a Screams! etc only 18k done and got it for $3.500 saved alot of money for a Japan crap at 8k

thats my 2cents like i said you don't have to listen, just test drive one before you buy...

I got my ninja 250 from motorad, the service was good. They gave 15% off gear which is a good gesture.
They are more expensive than some other places but from what Ive heard they are pretty reliable.

Im looking for a recommendation on a dealer to buy the bike from and then use for servicing.

I went to one place the other day and their customer service was crap, they were more interested in talking to their mates, they also wanted to charge me 9k for a new Ninja 250 when I can get one exactly the same in Palmy for under 8k.

So, can someone please recommend a good place in Wellington.

    Thanks
Thats really interesting, I have just brought a Kawasaki VT1600 and am looking for a place where I can get good reliable Kawasaki service. If what you say is true about Motorad then I wont be going to them. Maybe I will try Boyles. I will watch this Thread with interest

Considering you've dredged up a thread from three years ago I doubt you'll see much further action in here to be honest.
