I found this to be rather informative - learned lotsa stuff I didn't know.

MotoGP was invented in the year 2AD by Professor Albert Motogp, who came up with the idea in a fit of rage after coming up with ever faster and ever more dangerous means of transport and accidentally putting together the world's first motorbike which, despite a top speed of 400 million kph, was equivalent in size to the Empire State Building and therefore impossible to start moving, so the idea was scrapped but rediscovered in an archeological dig 7 minutes later.
