Time for a GSXR - little rocket

Yeah... finally got a GSXR 750 G Old skool Suzuki, in pretty tidy order.
The Black Red & White model, yeah baby can this thing move, not too much under 7000 rpm, but all in a rush after that wow, no wonder these first series old icon "Race bikes" are getting snapped up. They are bloody good fun to ride, reasonably comfortable, and have quite alot of character for a old jappa.
I think I might just hold onto this baby.

Yeah I love my 87 H model, true a bit gutless until 7k. Goes even better up top with some slingshot or flatslide carbs. The 85's were meant to be a bit of a handful with a shorter swingarm that could cause some high speed wobbles

Great value bikes for the money they go for, with simple care the engines take a hell of a beating.

I've also shoehorned a 2005 R6 rear shock in since my old ones non rebuildable and a bit of a liability. Straight swap bar some sweat lost trying to squeeze the bottom mount into place and having the battery box cut a little.

Yeah the H model had CV carbs, the F&G models (85 & 86) had flatsides...I believe

I had the "j" model,(1988),and absolutely loved it.

If it wasn't for the tired engine,and aged plastics,i would have DEFINATELY kept it,but it worked out cheaper in the long run to buy a newer bike.

What an awesome fun machine.

I have just bought myself a 1999 GSX-R 750 woohoo does she go. I enjoy ridding My GSX-R more than my cruiser

Yeah got a few things sorted on the 86 GIXER and took it for a run through the windy roads Ngaruawahia to Waingaro Road and back over the divvy to Hamilton.
Man this little rocket with its little 140 rear tyres can really drop into the corners and feel so stable doing so. I scraped the boots a couple of times, and the pegs are high, some thing I rarely do on the bigger bikes
It tracks so well through the bumpy corners as well, not a hint of coming undone, very reassuring no under or oversteer, straight where you put it.
This is more fun than a barrell full of monkeys.
I may have to test run a later model to see how they compare.
I'm becoming a FAN

I had an f model with 9000ks on the clock a few years ago. Jolly fun bike. I got a few "how can you keep up on that" comments.

Thats the best part eh,i get that all the time on my trusty old tankslapping S,ive a good mate with an old gixxer and on a good road can pretty much keep up with anything,great to see.
