Yeh but he's finally saying he feels a new fight in him and for the first time this season he's passing those fast guys instead of just maintaining his race position.

Hopefully we'll see him rise from here! Good luck to him!!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yeah' With Barragan out for a while the pressure has eased a bit (by no means alot though).
Nagl is on fire at the moment and De dycker is a bit like Josh this year, Just needs a break (hopefully Cairoli's leg! )
Josh can outpace Phillaperts and appears physically stronger than him ...

Out of the whole MX1 field Josh is the most consistent finisher.. now he needs to up the pace slightly.. His tactics are probably very complex, been watching the lines of the rest of the field closely and now he can formulate a fair idea of each riders strengths and weaknesses on any given track/day/conditions.

Gotta love that freecaster TV! almost want to buy one of those silly looking braun electric razors now you can use in the shower ... hopefully wont be tempted to shave my arse with it.

Race report quote: "On lap 12 Coppins and Philippaerts collided, leaving Coppins on the deck and dropped down to 7th position by the time he got going again."

Seem to remember this happening before. Josh needs sharper elbows.

Monster Yamaha rider Josh Coppins is enjoying his racing in 2009. Despite not feeling that great on the bike he knows that this might be his last season and he is making the most out of it. Trying to enjoy his last trip to places like Germany, or Sweden, where he has had success in the past.

Fourth in the World MX1 Championship points after nine rounds means that he is still in with a chance to win a World Title before he heads back home to New Zealand, although now 64 points behind series leader Antonio Cairoli the New Zealander will find it hard work and it will take some luck to catch the MX1 series leader. Coppins though has never been a quitter and isn’t about to give up now.

Q: Josh, has it been a struggle so far this year?

Coppins: It isn't a struggle at all I am enjoying my racing and of course I am trying to win, and enjoy my racing along the way. It could be my last year, I am still in with a hunt and I might come good at the end of the year. I haven't been that good this year, and the last races I have been fading and had a lack of energy, so hopefully I can step it up and have a chance.

Q: But are you disappointed in your standing in the series?

Coppins: I am not disappointed because I have enjoyed coming to the race and I am trying to do that because it could be my last season here. I want to enjoy it for sure. I sort of come to the races with my family now and I am enjoying my practicing and I am practicing with a lot of guys now, so overall it's been fun. Q: What has been the problem with your conditions; you have faded in some races lately haven’t you?

Coppins: I have been struggling with fitness, just some health problems and I have made a mistake and didn’t get my blood checked enough, it is totally my own fault and after racing for so long I should have known better. I need to get organized and try and be strong for the last part of the season.

Q: Is it difficult being a father and a racer?

Coppins: It is difficult being a father and a racer. My goals have changes, I mean I am still trying to go for the championship, but my priority isn’t winning it anymore. I mean anyone who becomes a father will tell you, it’s a life changing experience. I am trying to do my best for my team, and sponsors and friends.

Q: Does being a father take away the edge a little maybe?

Coppins: It is possible, I mean I don’t think so, nothing was missing in 2007 and in 2008 I was too busy worrying about my future, which was silly to worry about that. Although I am not leading and it’s looking tough to win it, it is still possible and anything can happen, as we saw in 2007 with me losing it.

    News From Josh:

    Hi there,

The last GP in Germany went well for me – it’s the first time in a while that i have felt strong both motos! I can’t tell you how great that felt to fight to the end. I’ really looking forward to this weekend in Latvia...

We have had a good week’s training. I went to Olmen and did some testing with Gunter from KYB - Technical Touch). We tried a few different suspension settings and came away happy.

Check out my web store for the new “One more year” DVD that Alex Rankin put together for me: I think he did an awesome job so get yourself a copy and check it out.

Today I went trials riding with Jamie, Scott and Jake Nichols who rides MX2. He has been staying for a while and it’s amazing how much he has improved while being here. I can imagine being in his shoes: You see things when you arrive and you think “I’ll never be able do that” or “there is no way I can keep up with these nutters”, but by the end of the stay you are doing things you never dreamed of attempting... needless to say after a few big crashes in the trials bikes we called it a day as both Jake and I want to be in one piece for Latvia! Things are busy right now as we have three GP’s in a row... I like it that way especially now that I’m feeling strong.

Well that’s it for now, I’ll check in next week.

    Cheers,

    JC
