"SMALL" group of arrogant motoX riders

I have a bone to pick with a certain group of Motor X riders. I was at Woodend beach motor camp on Saturday visiting my parents where we had a birthday party for my wee 1 year old girl. The other kids were running about having fun and such.... as kids do! Next thing we hear a massive loud noise coming from off road bikes coming down the track that runs along the camp.......Shit here they are again! these bikers were traveling at huge speeds, probably about 5 of them. They rip up the track and have no respect.

........BUT that is not my main concern! there are a lot of children playing and running around the place, these guys are going to kill a child if they don't SLOW DOWN or better yet, go somewhere that is not populated by children.

They are not allowed in the camp and THEY KNOW IT! It seems to have become a bit of a game to get in there and get out with out being caught, the Police can't seem to do anything as they get there too late and the bikes are long gone. These bikes can not be identified and their faces are covered.

If I can catch them, they won't be on their bikes for long........SO BE WARNED. IF you know who these cow boys are.... or YOU are them, it is getting serious and SOMEONE WILL get hurt or worse!

Riders like that give the rest of us a bad name, I know that there are only a handfull of these guys out there commonly known as COWBOYS,,, come on guys and girls!! Do you want the death of a child on your conscience for the rest of your life?? And if it is one of my children killed, you will have me to deal with.

Everyones thoughts and experiences on this topic are most welcome.

unfortunately the majority of these type of riders cant read, and therefore wouldnt be found on an internet forum, but fair call none the less.

some people cant think for the future a little bit and realise they are standing on their own toes

You need to talk to the council about possibly blocking that area off.

These are the sort of cnuts/twats (insert favourite derisive word here) that will ruin dirt biking for us all. Like the clowns that ride in the forest where you aren't supposed to be instead of the bike park at Woodhill. I think every area has these sorts of riders.
It'll be just the boy racer scourge, ruining things for the rest of us as the authorities clamp down on their behaviour - we'll all get tarred with the same brush.

I bet most of us have done it once or twice but its not to you race and get involved in a club that you relise what harm you do to the sport doing such stupid things, it will never change like the boy races in there cars , its part of our culture.

The fact that there will always will be idiots will certainly never change, but changes in access to riding areas will almost certainly change not only because of clowns like these but also pressure from the tree hugger brigade and eventually even from demand for land for housing, roads and industry etc.
It'll be a slower process here but it's already happening in many countries overseas.
These clowns are just accelerating what will almost certainly happen, because these days the only way the authorities know how to deal with anything is by putting in more and more rules and regulations - which as we all know, tend to have more effect on normal law abiding folks than the people that the rules were supposed to control.

Used to run into this type regularly when we ran trail rides in Woodhill, you can't use reason with them. I think the only way to educate them is with bullets. After a close call between a 10 year old girl and a bunch of guys on quads we had to re assess what we could let the kids do when we were up there cutting tracks and putting up arrows and was a consideration when we decided it was time to pass the job on to others.

Well here is a bit of goss that the Hampsters of this world (currently posting on how to get to the bombing range) don't take into consideration.

Woodhill will be shortly and rightly be owned by Iwi, yes they do have reason (IMO) to own Woodhill Forest. We, as a community, risk losing access for all sport and recreation unless we tidy our act up. Motorbikes have the worst reputation and its not helping for the future. Be warned guys and girls it could happen.
    I hear you Glanvillejon!!!

I hope the hampsters of this world do as well.

I think there are 4 reasons for people riding in places that seem to upset others, and give the rest of us a bad name.
1 -They cant afford to go to moto x parks and organised rides - solution - go home, sell your bike and buy a ps2
2 - They havent got the balls to ride in a competition or a trail ride - solution- go home, sell your bike and buy a ps2
3 - They are riding a stolen bike - solution - give bike back and go to prison(ask nicely for a ps2 in there)
4 - They are simply just dickheads - solution -A brain, penis enlargement maybe? who knows?

We are not short of "proper" places to ride in NZ by a long stretch.Look at the sticky thread for instance. And its all affordable(pick another hobby if not)
Most trail rides are organised to fundraise for schools, clubs etc. So the w'#kers out there who are giving us a bad name by riding in places that are not suitable, are slowly killing it for those clubs and schools etc as well.
Organised rides are always well advertised in all sorts of different mediums- there is no excuse.
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.
