Tyres changed. Just got to put some new brake pads in the back in the morning, then I'm all set.

I've had a re-think about travelling light. I'd better throw in a few warm clothes. Sounds like it won't be shorts and singlet weather.

Aaah seasickness, once got seasick working in the engine room of a fishing trawler, problem was it was tied to the wharf at the time. Get seasick driving on a wet road, glad I wasn't on that boat.

so are you guys coming to St Arnaud or the Howard Valley Rd turnoff?

Nah bro, secret technique: Ride faster. This warms up the bike more, and therefore keeps you warm. There's no flaws in this at all.

Hope they have improved the coffee since I was last there - it was crap

Rock Snot is closed for winter (do they know something we don't )
So lunch on Friday and Sunday is Rivers Cafe 51 Fairfax St Murchison

And 'The Broadway Tearooms And Bakery' - our meeting point in Reefton on Saturday and Sunday opens for breakfast on both days at 6am. The coffee is some of the best on the coast (not that that is saying much)

now where are my thermal undies.....

determined to only use one small daypack strapped to the bike, I can't stand a loaded up bike and don't wanna use the topbox for fear of breaking it if gravity takes over somewhere.
May be easier said than done though.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

I'm looking into some ingenious methods of carting tools and stuff. Might involve a lot of duct tape.

Is it wise to put stuff in the air cleaner box. Seems like a big hole doing nothing.

I got clutch and brake levers cabletied to me frame, tyre levers would be there too but need a better drill to put holes in them.

it would be the second time ive been on the ferry, that when it droped in the the bottom off the waves, its sent a shock wave through the boat.
ive got pics of the front of the boat under water, just a foam bath....waves were crashing up so high we not see shit out the windwows..

    Casual meeting.

My son who lives in Wanaka was on the ferry (heading South in a 4x4) yesterday morning with his 9yr old son.

They were talking to a group of "KiwiBiker's" crossing for a South Island adventure run.

Could this have been the group he was talking to?

He is a big guy (rides motoX) do any of you remember talking to him?

The crossing was a bit on the rough end of the scale! (lots of people sick)

Well, good luck, hope your ride goes well. Cheers, John.
