given that the Brass is the following weekend and a few birthdays are around that time would it help to go on the Friday evening (22nd) and come back on the Monday (25th) - or have people already made plans?

Cary and Bart - would this help you be able to swing things?

I am quite happy to "go with the flow" on this one. I always prefer having Friday off, just seems so much better looking forward to having the work week end early than having the weekend spill over one day. But if it encourages and enables others - not a problem.

No, Thursday would suit better for most by the sounds.

Just wondering (again) if the Tiger will cope, mainly on ground clearence issue as have shunted the headers a couple times already. Alright for you lot on lightweight DR's etc but the likes of the Tiger are borderline adv bikes and don't take the knocks so well. (I'm not sure i shoulda looked at your ride report Mark!!)
    Going away, busy?

I'm very keen to go, I just need to know whether it's the Friday or Monday I need to take off so I can negotiate with the boss and the other guy I share the on-call support with.

It is something to consider - the KLR is quite low slung and the bash plate got a real work out on some of those tracks - I am amazed at how strong a piece of plastic can be (although I did crack a corner of the bashplate on ol' greenie). Its the usual story where you'd be fine on 99% of the ride but the remaining 1% could be a ball breaker (or header breaker).

Buy a DR - everyone needs 3 bikes.

unless the Thursday evening departure is a major issue for Bart we will stick with that.

I owe my wife big time. She says you guys should all chip in and buy her a present

What time are we likely to be back Sunday. I may need to take Monday off work (hopefully not).

Already got 3 but hey, one more wouldn't hurt

Will look into aftermarket bash plate or make something and have a think on it.

hi make a cardboard model of what you would like ( skid plate ) and take it down to your local alloy boat builder shop,
they just maybe able to wip one up for you. cheaper than off the shelf.
