    Classic mopeds in Christchurch?

I saw a whole lot of them parked up on Cashmere Rd about 1030 yesterday (Sunday)

There's a bicycle shop in New Brighton that sells them. John's Cycles at 61 Brighton Mall.

Some of them are modern, others are replicas of the old school ones - possibly what you saw if you didn't look closely.

They also sell the engines for a couple of hundy, I'm thinking of getting an old treadly (you need the thinner frame you don't find on most of the modern bikes) and building one up myself for a laugh.

They were heading off for a 50km run! There were 47 bikes of 50cc and under. Ride was orgainised by a guy named Ivan and his wife. They are looking to promote use and enjoyment of the 50cc and under group. By all accounts it was a successful run - with a couple of obligatory stops at suitable watering holes. He's planning on doing more.

Yeah I saw his ads on a few Trademe auctions for Honda 50 bits I was bidding on. Would've been a bit of a laugh!
