I think you've got to have some ride time for yourself. Am sure he will understand, and if its been a while now, he's probably anticipating that it will be coming to this situation soon anyway.

Have a wee friendly chat but if he happens get the shytes, tell he can pull his head in (I'd probably never pillion him thereafter if it were me cos I get mean sometimes) and tell him think about why he lost his license in the first place.

If I were you, I would tell him how you are feeling since he lost his license, and how it is impacting you, as this is a real consequence for you..

Not meaning to judge him, but maybe this will add another reason for him to think first in the future.

Aye, I'm lucky really. My partner doesn't want to come along every single time I take the bike out. I can bugger off solo, she comes along when she feels like it.

But, here's the thing. Me time is about me getting my sanity so I can interact. Riding a bike is a personal thing, it's the ultimate personal time. :
