Now THAT is a bloody good dog !!!! He was doing his job of protecting you .... The cop may have got a little surprise, but couldn't really get too upset about the situation, given that he/she had produced a device and pushed it towards you face.

It would have been funny to see actually !! lol

I don't like being asked my address by a cop when they don't suspect me of anything...

it's actually a recording device that records the sound of your voice and stores it in a database alongside your rego & car description - a bit like the fingerprint database. then when you are picked up on one of the multiple govt. surveilance cameras around NZ, they can recognise you by your voice.

I must have a particularly innocent face because I've been through multiple checkpoints and only ever been asked once to say my name and address in the machine. Usually they just take one look at me and wave me through.

Even on the bike when they've been doing warrant and rego checks they just wave me through - probably because I flip up my visor and oggle the nice young men in uniform and just look far too keen to stop for a chat.

Refusing/failing to give or giving a false name and address can get you locked up. I'd say it wouldn't be a problem if you were a taxi driver and had a car full to do the count to ten thing so your address is kept secret but you are legally obliged...

I always use my brothers name and address. That keeps it sweet cos it matches the one on the licence I use.

He's gonna be mighty pissed off when he gets back from Dubai with all the demerit points he's accumulated.

Liberty is a soul's right to breathe - if the cops want to tell me they suspect me of something then I'll tell them who I am... not until then... and I'll take that to court if I have to
Please help keep me in leather and on tarmac - it's good for my ego
