    Help please...

Im trying to find a full aftermarket exhaust system and high flow filter (k&n, uniflow etc) for my girlfriends 2009 cbr125r. This model is heavily restricted factory so these mods allow 30% more HP! There are plenty online but im reluctant to order from overseas. Ive spoken to the honda dealer where we bought the bike from but they say "their supplier cant find one". I live in christchurch and thought if i cant order one made to fit this model is there somone who make a system to fit or anyone know who in new zealand has systems for a cbr125r? Its a new bike that has been on the market for 4 years, i didnt think it would be this hard to get a bloody exhaust. Ive seen one with a micron pipe so i know someone knows...

    probably not worth the effort.

If i were you i would do 4 things.
    - Change the plug for an iridium
    - Polish the inside of the carb
    - Drill holes in your airbox
    - Preload the forks with 20 cent pieces (and see if you can jack up the suspension in the rear).

    If you have time:
    - take off the muffler
    - see if it has a horrible restrictor washer in it (these punch out using a flathead and a hammer - they are just spot welded in)

This will give you a real hp boost - however if you were really after hp why not just buy her a good bike like an RG? or even (god i hate to say it) and FXR150.
I mean the cbr is good, but so is wanking - would you rather people knew you were paying for sex, or paying to be wanked?
This is all part of lifes choices - like buying a honda

Go ask on www.visordown.co.nz - they have a section about bucket racing and as far as I have understood the most powerful thing that will fit the regulations is the CBR125. They ought to know one way or the other.

Yep ive seen dyno charts online show an increase form 13hp to 18hp with a full akrapovic system.. so thats approx 30%. Once again i dont want to hear "she should buy a cbr250 or fxr blah blah". Ive owned 2 cbr250s and she doesnt need that, or want it. She wanted the cbr125r, coz its brand new, new zealand new, and she loves the look (which is most important with girls). now she wants to make it loud and a bit faster. Im certain there will be a shop in chch that can sort it out (im baffled as to why honda cant) i just thought someone on kiwibiker might know... I will look into modifying the current system with a hammer too cheers

A full arka system would cost more than half the bike at full retail

Sigh. The value of the bike is irrelevant, she knows what its gona cost, she loves her bike and plans to have it for a few years as she bought it brand new. Most of the major manufacturers claim the same sort of hp increases and prices vary a lot. Any decent brand is fine, whatever we can get seems best at the moment because as usual we seem to be getting peoples opinions rather than any helpful advice, if u cant help dont post please.
