What speed are you riding at?

100-110. A touch over to overtake a truck, maybe. Won't ride with those who consistently do big speeds like 150+.

Voted on the 100, mainly because there is no 80-100.

I tried sometimes to go faster but seems I can't gather enough courage. I have two small children and don't want them to be left without their father.

Where's the "Depends..." option?

I have seen all of the listed speeds on the roads around NZ. Any hairy moment I may have experienced happened at speeds quite below any mark listed in the poll.

Most of the time I prefer to cruise at the 0-10 km/h above the limit since I then won't have to worry about the fuzz. However, I often speed up for corners - both coming in and coming out.

Happy to cruise at 95 - 100 on my learner friendly rides, also happy with a faster riders at 110 - 120 and up to 130 hooning alone. Then again I dont ride for the straights, but for the corners and super tight twisties so cant do very illegal speeds at my favourite 25ers, 35ers, 45ers, and 55ers

Upper self imposed limit of 130 as I understand that my licence is a privilege and my life is up to me to keep.

I ride to the conditions, usually not more than 120. Don't want to collect to big a fine as I don't possess a radar detector.
If overtaking, then as fast as possible( don't like being on the wrong side of the road ).

Sometimes I speed sometimes I stay within the "generally accepted" limits. If there's not other cars on the road, no grit and no ice I'm happy to exceed the speedlimit "somewhat". Can't be too bloody hard to understand that depends is not about whether I need a shit or any other internal factor. If the conditions are right I'm happy to go as fast as the bike feels comfortable doing. Only sheep accept speed limits, or any other "law" for that matter, as a god-given commandment.

Surely, noone here could honestly say that if they knew they weren't going to be caught and knew they weren't going to have an accident, would have any issue with going as fast as they felt comfortable with.

Of course not. As I said, there is no "Depends" box...

An indicated 110 km/h is most likely closer to 100 km/h than 120 km/h.

Did Tawa to Rotorua and back recently, trying hard to do 105-115 mostly. (That's about 0.005 of a degree of rotation of my speedo needle. Stupid speedo goes to 240 or something. Like I'd ever need that.)

I've done 225. And for me that's what the track is for. I love track days. You get to ride as fast as you want and if you come off usually it's all good. A speedo that reads 240 makes sense.

On the road I would be classed as sensible and prefer to stick around the speed limit because I have no radar. Or is it I have no radar because I stick around the speed limit. And I'm happy to publicly state that.

Although I did have an experience this year of riding at warp factor 9 for ages with a group. That would be around 115kmph indicated so probably 109 true if I remember rightly.

Sometimes I have a problem remembering numbers.

I sit at whatever speed Mrs Oakie is doing. She sets the pace and has a smaller bike than me so generally 110kph is about it although there are 'rumours' that she has got up to 140kph on a couple of occasions.
