When did they change that? Used to be when you saw the white disk with the black slash through it it was 70mph single or dual.

its a bike not a cage, 80s gonna kill you just as effectivly as 100, if your afraid of dying buy a gas guzzling 4x4, otherwise live life (and before you say it no i dont have 2 small kids, its 3)

And probably also that 100k/h gets us in the way for the cagers.

You make it sound like we need an excuse.

...even if it was the law.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Interesting thought pattern developed from these comments. I realised that I am a Rebel, a criminal, someone who is outside what the society has deemed to be acceptable. I am a law breaker. Perhaps not a 1%'er anymore, but clearly someone who breaks the laws every day.

But from the current result of this poll I am in good company...

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

And another thing that comes out of this: Currently 7% are telling us that they ride at 160k/h, 180k/h or at "The stop". When you take in to account that a few who tell us that they have the throttle handle at "the stop" when they ride and their rides clearly are only able to do 100 - 120k/h at max, I estimate that the 160k/h+ brigade here is approx 5%. That makes it one outta 20 riders who ride like they stole it.

I can actually believe that. The biking community is a place where many who don't give a shit garvitate. Something about the freedom, the adrenaline rush, the ability to get away from it all.

I think it is not far of the mark to say that we get one in 20 who think they are bullet proof who ride a bike. Sadly they do not stay around to prove it...

There's lies, damn lies and statistics. Would'nt really read to much into the poll. 120kms happens to be a good pace to get around at, especially on a naked bike, without getting carried away with major braking into corners.

I guess it really depends where we are riding, on a road full of little kids we tend to slow down or where there are obvious threats [hotdog sellers, real estate agents and greenpeace]. but when out of town or where I live you can sit at naughty speeds and not worry.

i was having trouble keeping my speed down - one of the reasons i sold the bus. passed a line of trucks one morning at about 4.30am. closing speed well over 100km/h. 3 trucks, all following a patrol car at about 90km/h. i didn't even see if the disco lights came on. no-one got hurt, no one even came close, but i had an epithany after that. 1500kms out of a back tyre (no burnouts) just way too fast, all the time.

    time for a break.
