[Tiger Z100WR Front View] Not content with the Z100's 0-60 time of 3.11 seconds, a true world record beater was born in the form of the Tiger Z100WR. The two factors limiting the Z100s dash to the 60mph mark were power and grip, both of these limitations were addressed in the development of the Z100WR. To overcome the power limitation two Kawasaki ZX12 engines are used, raising the available power from 304bhp to ~360bhp, torque is also increased by ~48lbft to 198lbft. Four wheel drive maximises the transfer of power from the tyres to the road. At the heart of the Z100WR lies a Tiger B6 chassis, modified to accept the two Kawasaki bike power plants and to accommodate the additional differential and drive shafts which form part of the four wheel drive system. Drive from the front engine passes directly into a limited slip differential to the front wheels. The rear engine drives the back wheels via a reverse gearbox, prop shaft and another limited slip diff. A sophisticated MoTeC engine management/traction system looks after the running of the engines and their power delivery. In November 2001, and with only 8 road miles under its belt, the Z100WR was invited to the Bruntingthorpe by 'Car and Car Conversion' magazine to attempt to break some acceleration records for road legal cars. Using the Datron MicroSAT timing equipment a two-pass 0-60mph time of 2.80 seconds was achieved (in only 41 meters!). The two-pass average time from 0 to 100mph was 6.6 seconds. The Tiger Z100WR is fully road legal will be available as either a fully built turn-key car or in kit form. The first customer cars/kits will be available mid 2002.
