Sorry mate, but its absolute best not to buy second hand helmets....

    I highly recommend HJC CL-14's....

But if you want to go budget, FFM Rapier is a very nice helmet....

Have heard a little about Orina... it will be good as long as it has armour

Great to see you thinking about gear as well as the bike
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nz
    Thanks Colemans Suzuki
    Thanks AMCC
I use DID Chains and Akrapovic Exhausts

Dont buy a second hand helmet, check out motomail they have HJC C14's for about 190$ new.

Second hand helmets could have being droped dont risk your life on a second hand helmet, go new.

    Good luck.

I concur, CL-14 is a very nice helmet

If you spot one like this on Trade Me it's probably not worth buying for obvious reasons...

spend on helmet and save on jacket, secondhand leather jacket would give good protection and then money left over for gloves, boots, pants, visors........

but thats a pretty good price, check the retail first though.

There is a special on CL14's now, $169.00 for black uo to $255.00 for graphics. Got to be the best helmet deal around.
We've just received a new shipment at AMPS, come and check them out.

It's been said by everyone else but it can never really be said enough..."don't buy a second hand helmet".
A phrase comes to mind from wise (still in one piece) biker ...
"If you have a $10 head, get a $10 helmet"

I have a 'Cirus' helmet which cost $160. The same make of helmet saved my son-in-law's swede when a ute pulled out in front of him and sent him flying over the bonnet... and my daughter also wears one. I guess you could say I'm confident in the brand even though it's at the cheap end.

...and another reason for not buying a helmet from TradeMe (unless it's new - there are some on there) is that a good fit is paramount. Unless you try a particular helmet first and find out if it fits you well, then buy the exact same size and model on TradeMe, you're in danger of having either an unsafe helmet, or one that is uncomfortable and annoying.

My head is worth only $10, but I still would not buy a $10 helmet.

    Maybe a $20 one....
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I got a CAN helmet from Mt Eden m/c last year for about $150. It seems to be a good un.

On the weekend I bought a codura jacket from AMPS for $250 with elbow, shoulder armour, and spine padding. It is made of very good material, has a thermal zip out and seems to be well constructed.

    Good luck.

Aaron, all you need is some nice new paint and a bit of a buff and then at least the helmet will look good as it falls apart
